About Alola
A private golf club, by introduction only.

- What Alola is
- A private golf and lifestyle club founded in Singapore in 2026. Members are founders, chairs and senior principals who play golf to an honest handicap and travel well. The club is funded by its members and sells nothing.
- Who it is for
- People who have already built something and have nothing left to prove on a golf course. The club exists so they can put the boardroom down: play properly, eat well, and sit among peers who understand the weight they carry without needing it explained.
- How one joins
- Nobody applies. A member introduces a candidate, who plays a round with a member of the committee and shares a meal with a second member. The committee votes. Each member may introduce three people.
- What members do
- A monthly game on a private course. A table once a month. Five or six journeys a year to private courses and five-star houses. Circles, small rooms where members talk about the table, travel, health and the rest of life, privately. Every round is scored on the club's own card and countersigned by a playing partner, which is how a member's number is made.
- Where Alola is received
- Houses and clubs in 15 countries are in correspondence with the club, 33 of them at the last count, from Singapore and Vietnam to Scotland and California. Members book with each house directly, on members' terms, and Alola takes nothing.
- What Alola never does
- It does not advertise. It does not sell journeys, packages or memberships. It takes no commission from any house. It never brings a gaming or casino property into the club. What is said among members stays among members.
- Who is behind it
- The chair is Marcus Lim, who has spent his working life in hospitality and travel across Asia. The committee is six members with named roles: golf, the Code, health and golf schools, the club secretary, and fitting.
- How to write to the club
- Houses, clubs and golf schools write to m@alola.com. A person who has not been introduced may use the quiet door at alola.com/introduction; the committee reads every note and replies in person.
