What we do.
The Alola Day.
Once a month: a morning on a fine course, then a chef's lunch. Each member may bring one guest. It is how most people first meet us.
The Flight.
The same few members play together every month through a season. Phones stay in the bag, and what is said on the course stays there.
Journeys.
Five or six a year, to great courses and five-star houses, with friends you trust. If it would not make a good story at dinner, it is not on the calendar.
An honest number.
Every member plays off an Alola number. Score on your phone as you play, the members in your group confirm at the eighteenth, and the number moves that day.
Houses that know your name.
Hotels, golf clubs and golf schools that welcome Alola members, each with a person there who knows who we are. You book with the house directly.
Lola, and each other.
Lola is the club's concierge: ask what to do, where to stay, who is playing. And members help members, in circles for the table, travel, health and the game.

Every member reads this, means it, and signs it. Every year.
We are here for the story.
Nobody remembers what they shot three years ago. Everybody remembers the night in Danang. We plan for the story first and the golf a very close second.
Your number is your word.
Every member plays off an Alola number. The committee or a club professional sets the first one, and the friends who countersign your card keep it honest. Not a great golfer? Wonderful, most of us are not. Just be exactly as good as you say you are.
Nobody asks for strokes.
The sheet says who gets what, and on which holes. No negotiating on the first tee. Haggling for shots is beneath you, and it is beneath us.
Win loud. Lose louder.
Enjoy the good shots out loud, and laugh hardest at the bad ones, especially your own. Take the ribbing well, then come back for revenge.
The best, or not at all.
Private courses. Five-star stays. Tables worth the flight. We never ask what the cheapest way is. We ask what the best way is, and do that.
Look after each other.
Play fast. Pick up the phone. Pour for the table before yourself. Make the newest member feel like they have been here for years.

Alola is built on one thing: the right people. We look for people who play honestly, lose cheerfully, spend generously on a good time and never on showing off, and who make a table better by sitting at it. Handicap, title and net worth count for nothing here.

Golf schools with real coaches, for members who want to get better and are honest enough to say so.

At every partner house there is a named person who looks after Alola members. You are expected, not processed.

You book and pay the house directly, on the terms the house has given our members. We name only the houses that have agreed to welcome you.

Alola was founded by a few like-minded friends who play honestly, travel properly and laugh at each other often. Most of us have built something, belong to a club already, and have reached the point where the company matters more than the card. Nobody can apply cold. A member puts their own name to you, you complete your application, a second member vouches, your name is posted to the whole membership, you play a round with one of us and share a meal with another, and a small founding committee votes on one thing only: whether the fit is right. An introduction is never a guarantee.
