Privacy Policy

Last updated 6 July 2026

This policy explains what personal data Alola Life collects, why, and your rights over it. It follows Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). Alola Pte Ltd is the data controller.

1. What we collect

Depending on how you use Alola Life, we may collect:

  • Account details — your email address (for sign-in).
  • Profile details you choose to give — name, mobile number, country, and areas of interest.
  • Chart inputs — birth date, birth time (optional), birthplace/timezone and gender, used to compute your readings.
  • Usage information — which tools you open and general activity, used to improve the service and understand what help is relevant to you.

2. Why we use it (purposes)

  • To compute and save your charts and readings and provide the service.
  • To personalise your readings and recommend relevant, optional tools or third-party services.
  • To contact you about your readings and relevant services — only where you have given consent.
  • To secure, maintain and improve the service.

We rely on your consent for contact and for processing the birth details you voluntarily provide; you can withdraw consent at any time (see below).

3. How we share it

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run Alola Life (for example, hosting, database, email delivery, and AI text generation), under confidentiality obligations and only as needed. If you ask to be connected to a vetted third-party practitioner, we share only what is necessary and only with your consent. We may disclose data where required by law.

4. Where it is processed

Our providers may process data outside Singapore. Where they do, we take steps intended to ensure a comparable standard of protection consistent with the PDPA.

5. Retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, then for a reasonable period to meet legal, accounting or dispute-resolution needs, after which it is deleted or anonymised.

6. Your rights (PDPA)

You may:

  • request access to the personal data we hold about you, and information on how it has been used;
  • request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • withdraw consent to contact or to further processing, and request deletion of your account and data.

You can edit your details anytime from your account, or contact us at [privacy@alola.com] to exercise these rights. We will respond within a reasonable time as required by the PDPA.

7. Security

Access to your data is restricted and protected by database-level access controls. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

8. Data Protection Officer & complaints

For any privacy question or complaint, contact our Data Protection Officer at [dpo@alola.com]. If you are not satisfied, you may contact Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC).

9. Changes

We may update this policy; the “last updated” date shows when. Material changes will be brought to your attention where appropriate.
