Terms

• Membership is by introduction only, and the committee decides who joins. Its decision is final and no reasons are given. An introduction is not a promise.
• Membership is personal and cannot be transferred. It is not a share, an investment or an ownership interest, and it has no resale value.
• No one gains status, perks, money or anything else by introducing people.
• Every member signs How we play on joining and again each year.

Membership carries no dues at present. If dues are introduced, members will be told in writing, with the amount and what it covers, before anything is payable, and anyone who does not wish to pay may leave without charge.

• Alola plans and hosts games, dinners and journeys. It is not a travel agent and does not sell travel.
• When you travel or visit a partner club or hotel, you book with and pay that provider directly, on their terms. Your contract is with them, not with us.
• Alola takes no commission or payment from partners, and does not hold members' money.
• Anything a partner offers members is the partner's to offer and may change or end. We tell members what we know in good faith but cannot guarantee a partner's availability or service.

• What you post in the Clubhouse and in circles stays yours. You let us store it and show it to the members who can see that room.
• Post only what you have the right to share. Share photos outside the club only if they are your own, and ask before a friend's face goes public.
• Nothing said in the club is repeated outside it. No selling, fundraising or pitching to members unless they ask.
• The member who posted something, or the chair, may take it down. We may remove anything that breaks these terms or How we play.

Your Alola number is the club's own measure, worked out from scorecards countersigned by members who played with you. It is not an official handicap index and must not be presented as one.

• Keep your sign-in to yourself. Links and codes we email you work once and only for you.
• Translations into other languages are made by machine and reviewed; the English text is the authoritative version.
• We work to keep the app available and correct, but provide it as it is and may change or pause parts of it.

You may leave at any time by telling the chair. The chair, on the committee's advice, may suspend or end a membership that damages the club or its culture, or that breaks these terms or How we play.

Golf, travel and dining carry ordinary risks, and you take part at your own risk and are responsible for your own insurance and your guests. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect loss, or for the acts of partners and other providers. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

We may update these terms; members will be told of any material change. These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore have jurisdiction.
